The setting is the Pacific Northwest where the redwood is king. The scene depicts the backwoods engine facility for the Marten's Pine logging operation. The layout features Shay and Climax type locomotives from Bachmann and scratch-built freight cars based on the Mich-Cat Logging lines. All structures on the layout are scratch-built from strip timber.
